Realm of Blót
Imagine a world where creatures directly evolve through consumption of one another. Some quite gentle and peaceful, others demonic and brutal.
Realm of Blót is a exploration of this world. Ecosystems, civilizations, and otherworldly phenomenon.
The red desert
Necessity
The canine of the red desert feasting on a spiny sphere, one of the few ways to get nutrition in the wasteland. The spikes has become a part of the canine, blending in with the fur. A fortunate feature this time, but features from consumption of other creatures are unpredictable.
This canine is a part of a tribe who uses glassy material for both decoration, jewellery and tools. A peaceful tribe, not seeking power through consumption, but survival.

Inevitable Death
An inevitable death for the spiny sphere. Even with it’s spiked shell, it’s no match for the canines with an appetite for the spheres.
The soft tissue gets its blue color from the water hidden in pockets underground. Safe from predators and the perfect place to lay its eggs and letting the younglings grow.
When they have grown enough, they drill through the sand towards the heat which hardens the shell. They stay in the same place until they have enough nutrition to shed their spikes and ride the desert storms to find new pockets of water.

Three new lifeforms growing into the red desert. The canine, the spiny sphere and the slimy seed.
The canines are born nearly ready to fend for themselves, but are usually well taken care of by mother and tribe.
The spiny spheres are born completely soft in tiny eggs in the water pockets under the sand. They spends their early life growing in the water before its time to drill through the sand towards the heat. Close to the surface the shell starts to harden and the spikes straightens out.
The slimy seeds drifts easily with the wind with the help from a gass filled bubble attached to the seed. Searching for any nutritional liquid to grow in before they catch passing critters.
